The Red, Black and Green Flag, as created by The Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey (1887-1940) and the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League, was introduced to the world in 1921 at the convention of the organization. A man of far-reaching vision, Mr. Garvey declared the flag as representative of the people of African-descent born in the United States. Since the time of its introduction, the Red, Black and Green Flag has symbolized racial pride and functional unity bridging the ideological spectrum of most progressive, race conscious, forward-thinking organizations, even into our current time. Culturally, Mr. Garvey's vision interlock forward-thinking organizations on the right side of history, of self-reliance and self-determination, and of good-old-fashioned commonsense (which is not so common these days). On the international scene, many nations, at one time under the overt oppressive brunt of colonial exploitation by European powers, have incorporated Mr. Garvey's red, black and green colors into the motif of their national flags. We are proud to supply this historic flag.
